Private Driving Lessons

Here at Evaluations we understand that learning to drive is far more complicated than just the physical handling of the automobile. You have to be mentally prepared as well as have a great understanding of all the developing situations that may be going on around you. Multi-tasking is key to becoming a safe and skilled driver and new driving students can easily become very nervous just at the thought of learning it all. This school was initially developed with you in mind, to put all your apprehension to rest. With our time, great patience and understanding, we will work together as a team helping you to rise above your fears and achieve what you deserve, to become a safe & confident licensed driver!

 

LESSON HOURS: Mon-Fri, 7am-9pm    Sat-Sun, 10am-6pm

All time-slots for private lessons are available on a first come, first serve basis and must be reserved in advance. It typically takes a few days to be able to fit new students into the schedule.

ABOUT OUR LESSONS:

Learn at your own pace. Beginners will NEVER just be thrown out into high traffic roadways on a first lesson. You will be taught with 2 goals in mind: to become a truly safe and confident driver that knows how to consistently take care of themselves in any situation, and if applicable, to pass your road test. All lessons are private one-on-one sessions available in either 60 minute or 90 minute slots. You will be learning in our vehicles with dual braking systems which will also be available to you for use on your road test examination, if necessary.

For New Drivers: due to the fact that most beginners will typically need at least 30-40 hours of practice before they achieve a high enough skill level suited for the NYS Road Test, we recommend regular practice sessions to be scheduled as often as possible. The more you practice in a controlled setting with a qualified instructor, the sooner you will reach your goal. Because not everyone is financially prepared for this inevitability, you have the choice of scheduling all of your practice sessions with us, OR we can consult with a friend or family member who may be helping you practice in between lessons so that your practice sessions with them will more closely match your lessons with us each week.

PACKAGES:

This school's policy on packages is that it would be irresponsible of us to imply that a new driver can be "road test ready" in 10 lessons or less (a common marketing ploy). The true fact is, in most cases you'd be better off paying "as you go" because "packages" will typically end up costing you more in the end by the time you're truly ready to pass your road test. We can however accept payment in advance for a pre-determined amount of lessons should you wish to do so, but other than making financial tracking easier for you there's no reason for you to feel that you need to do it this way. If you prefer to pay for blocks of lessons in advance we do accept credit card payments for this purpose. Otherwise, if paying "as you go", payment will be collected at the beginning of each lesson.

 

**IMPORTANT CANCELLATION NOTICE:

24 hours notice is required if you need to cancel a scheduled driving lesson. You may do so either via phone or email. failure to give at least 24 hours notice of cancellation will result in you forfeiting the lesson.
