Road Test Quick Quiz

The facts are, in recent years, that there's been nearly a 50% failure rate on the NYS DMV road test for first timers. Many new drivers don't realize what proper techniques are required for the road test exam. It is not enough to just be able to perform the maneuver itself, as you must follow specific techniques while performing it in order to increase your chances of passing the examination. It can be very difficult for the inexperienced student to know whether or not their training is correctly based upon these techniques, or in the case of a parent, whether or not they're teaching their child appropriately as far as road test technique is concerned.

Try taking this short quiz. It will give you an idea of how familiar (or unfamiliar) you are with a few of the techniques required on your road test. Realize that while having these correct procedures ingrained in your mind is important, it is only half the battle because you still need to be able to perform them well while behind the wheel. There's no substitute for practice & experience when it comes to smooth, correct technique while driving under road test conditions.
